After a World War two Great Britain was facing financial crises they were not in a position of running their own country so at this point to rule a country like India was such a geographical diversity became very difficult for them dot Lord Mountbatten was last Viceroy of India and he decided to give independence to India in the year of 1948 but then the hamid ali jinnah started demanding new country pakistan due to which riot started taking place throughout india to make less bloodshed Lord Mountbatten decided to give India its independence in the year of 1947 [Music] it was Lord Mountbatten who had personally decided the date of August 15th because he had considered that day to be very lucky for his career during the World War two it was on August 15th 1945 that the Japanese army had surrendered before Lord Mountbatten he was the commander of the Allied forces according to Indian astrologer 15th August was unfortunate and unholy day but Lord Mountbatten had personally decided the date and not ready to change so later the astrologers suggested the midnight hour between August 14th and 15th due to the simple reason that the day according to English starts at 12:00 a.m. but according to Hindu calendar starts at sunrise so finally India got its independence at midnight of 14th of August 1947

As an Indian we all know that our independence movement lasted almost 200 years. The movement was intensified by Bhagat Singh and Netaji Shubhas Chandra Bose and finally it was due to Gandhiji's nonviolent quit India movement that we got independence. But what if we told you that you were lied by you're biased history books and that what actually happened was the opposite of what we were told. What if we tell you that Gandhiji's nonviolent quit India movement lasted only a few months. And was smashed by the British 4 years before our independence. So what actually happened. What is the actual reason behind our independence. Is Gandhiji the real hero behind our independence or someone else. Let's find out. First of all we all know that when Gandhiji went to South Africa as a lawyer for a legal case he was discriminated by the white people. We also know that Indians in India were facing the same situation as Gandhi ji in South Africa. The Indian independence movement started way back in 1858. So Gandhiji was born in the middle of Indian independence movement. The case for which Gandhiji went to South Africa for was wrapped up in 1894. That time everyone thought that Gandhiji would return to India and join the Indian independence movement and thus was given a fair well by the Indian community. But surprisingly Gandhiji chose to stay there and fight for the Africans instead. His non cooperation movement in South Africa failed miserably but it successfully United the south African people to fight against the British. Observing this Gopalakrishna gokhale requested Gandhiji to return to India and unite Indians in their fight against the British Raj. Gandhiji then returned to India in 1915 to finally join the Indian independence movement. The problem with the Indian independence movement was that it was not coordinated and lack direction and unity. The first goal was to convince the Muslims in India for their cooperation as they were not supporting the independence movement of India but their own independence. After appeasing the Muslim League in 1919 Gandhiji finally managed to convince the Muslims in India for their cooperation in the independence movement in exchange for India's support for the Ottoman Empire which was the Islamic empire in Turkey.

And thus Gandhiji launched the civil disobedience movement this movement although was crushed by the British played a crucial role in uniting India and its people. Finally under pressure from World War 1 and Gandhiji's movement the British were forced to pass the government of India act of 1919 which allowed Indians to apply for government jobs and other basic rights. Since the act did not mention anything about India's independence. Gandhiji refused to accept this act and launch the non cooperation movement. This movement was again crushed by the British in 1922 but it's solidified Gandhiji's image as a national leader. Although unsuccessful it gave the Indian independence movement the direction and co ordination it needed. The Muslim League was not happy with Gandhiji as he was not doing anything special for the benefit of Muslims in India. A young man named Bhagat Singh was also not happy with Gandhiji's nonviolent movement and the differences between Gandhiji and the Muslim League. Bhagat singh's patience was finally tested when lala Lajpat rai died due to injuries from a lathi charge which he incurred while he was peacefully protesting against the Simon commission. Unable to accept this. Bhagat Singh shot John Saunders. A British police officer mistaking him for James Scott the British police superintendent who actually ordered the lathi charge. Bhagat Singh managed to escape the British police. Surfacing again in 1929 two explode to improvised bombs inside the central legislative assembly in Delhi. He was then arrested and hanged in 1931. Bhagat Singh's deed attracted a lot of young people in India. His brave act made him the hero of that time meanwhile Gandhiji still trying to appease the Muslim League did not acknowledge Bhagat Singh as Gandhi ji was strictly against any violence. The president of Indian National Congress Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was unhappy with Gandhiji's behavior. Netaji started pressurizing the Congress to accept bhagat singh's Purna Swaraj ideology dump the non violent ideology and stop wasting time in appeasing the Muslim League. The Congress accepted the Purna Swaraj but rejected the nonviolence part and continue to appease the Muslim League. At this time many revolts went violent disobeying Gandhiji's nonviolent ideology. Witnessing the revolt turned slowly violent the British decided to finally work on partial independence of India in the form of the government of India act 1935. This act granted partial independence to India and allow the election for the very first provisional Indian government. The election happened and Congress won. The provisional Congress government was not happy with partial independence and wanted Purna Swaraj. Gandhiji then thought of launching the nonviolent quit India movement. But just then Jinnah being unhappy with Gandhiji over no special benefit for Muslims. Started demanding a separate nation for the Muslims. Netaji on the other hand wanted it to be a violent movement.

The R. S. S. or the sangh also backed out as they thought that Gandhiji and Nehru were wasting too much time and energy on the Muslim League. Finally the Muslim League also backed out from the quit India movement and the movement was not launched. But just then World War 2 happened and under pressure from the massive war the British was forced to settle for complete Indian independence but in exchange for Indian armed force's cooperation with the British for the World War as a lot of soldiers started muting against the British after the bhagat singh incident. The provisional Indian government rejected this offer as in the previous World War a lot of Indian soldiers were killed or lost. But when Germany attacked Britain the Indian armed forces were forced to join the war without the permission of the provisional Indian government. No Indian was happy with this Netaji pressurised Gandhiji for a violent retaliation but Gandhiji refused and he was asked to leave the Congress. With Netaji gone Jawahar lal Nehru took his place and the quit India movement was finally launched without the support of Netaji Muslim League or the Sangh. Netaji was determined to launch of violent retaliation the British knew this and thus kept Netaji under house arrest. Meanwhile rumors went around that Germany was planning to invade India. Netaji spotted this opportunity and fled to Germany to meet Hitler. Hitler advised Netaji to go to Japan and seek their help he even arranged a submarine for Netaji. The quit India movement was a complete failure and ended few months after its launch and just after the quit India movement ended Netaji arrived in Japan. The Japanese army handed over around 45000 Indian prisoners of war with whom Netaji form the Indian national army. Netaji's army along with the Japanese army captured Burma Andaman and Nicobar Imphal and Kohima. As the Indian national army approached further they had to face intense retaliation from the royal Indian Army. According to sources the royal Indian Army refused to fight against Netaji's Indian national army but were forced to do so. It was during this war that detaches war cry Jai Hind. Spread like a wildfire in the royal Indian armed forces. Netaji lost the war and later died in a plane crash in 1945 one month before the World War ended. This war sparked an intense amount of patriotism among the soldiers in the royal Indian armed forces who soon made Jay hind their own war cry. After Netaji's death a number of soldiers from Netaji's Indian national army were court martialed in front of soldiers of the royal Indian armed forces. During 1945 and 1946 in the famous red fort trials. Humiliated by this. Huge number of soldiers from the royal Indian armed forces revolted against the British. The most famous of which was the royal Indian navy's revolt on 2/18/1946. Which encompassed a total strike and subsequent mutiny by Indian sailors onboard ships. And on shore at Bombay harbor. From the initial flashpoint at Bombay the mutiny spread and found support throughout British India from Karachi to Calcutta and ultimately came to involve 78 ships 20 on shore establishments and 20000 sailors. When all this was happening Gandhiji and his company spent all of their time in convincing jinnah. Frightened by this the new British government in England at once started drafting the Indian independence act as the British did not wanted the mutiny of the Indian soldiers to turn into a civil war. Weakened the World War the British were not in a state to handle an Indian civil war. The British prime minister Clement Attlee came to India with the cabinet mission. As soon as he arrived the provisional Indian government or the dummy Indian government was upgraded to interim government or the unofficial Indian government. On 2/20/1947 prime minister Attlee announced that. The British would leave India after the passage of the Indian independence bill in the British parliament. The bill was officially passed on 7/18/1947.

Meanwhile Gandhiji and his party was still busy convincing Jinnah. The Indian independence act came into existence on 8/15/1947 officially marking the Indian independence and the partition of India and Pakistan. From this analysis you can easily make out that India attained independence not because of Gandhiji's quit India movement but because of the mutiny of the Indian soldiers fueled by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's Indian national army. It is clearly evident that between 1930 to 1947 Gandhiji spent most of his time convincing Jinnah while the actual fight for independence was spearheaded by bhagat singh Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the revolt of Indian soldiers. We know a lot of people will get hurt after watching this video. So to clarify this video is not about defaming Gandhiji. We owe a lot to him he was the reason behind a United independence movement. The main motive of this video is to highlight the participation of other freedom fighters like Netaji and bhagat singh. Our question to the people of India is that why Gandhiji has been portrayed as the sole hero of Indian independence. Why does not other freedom fighters like fog it saying Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and many other people who laied their lives for a free India deserve equal credit. Just because Gandhiji was the godfather of the Congress and Bhagat Singh and Netaji defied him. Why can't we honor our heroes the same way the United States of America honors theirs.
